Using Law for Living
Terms of use
These terms are a binding agreement between you and Law for Living that applies when you browse lawforliving.com, use a questionnaire, generate a document, or buy a download. Please read them, especially the sections on refunds, disclaimers, and limitation of liability.
Effective September 4, 2026
1. Document-preparation software, not a law firm
Law for Living is self-service software that assembles a document from answers you provide. We are not a law firm, we do not practice law, we do not review your answers or your document, and we do not provide legal, tax, financial, medical, or real-estate advice. Nothing on the site, in a questionnaire, in an explanation, or in a generated document is a legal opinion or a recommendation about what you should do. Using the service does not create an attorney-client, fiduciary, physician-patient, or other professional relationship. If you need advice, consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the service. By using it you confirm that you are, and that you are using it for your own lawful purposes or on behalf of someone who has authorized you to do so.
3. Your responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your answers; for deciding whether a document is appropriate for your situation and jurisdiction; for reading the entire document before signing or sending it; and for meeting all current signing, witnessing, notarization, filing, recording, service, delivery, and official-form requirements, which change over time and differ by state, county, court, and agency. Where a jurisdiction requires a specific government form or statutory wording, our document may not satisfy that requirement.
4. Acceptable use
You may use generated documents for your own lawful personal or business purposes. You may not use the service or any document to threaten, harass, defraud, deceive, evict or dispossess anyone unlawfully, or otherwise violate another person’s rights; interfere with or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site; scrape, copy, or resell our questionnaires, templates, or text as a competing service; or circumvent payment or access controls. We may suspend access for misuse.
5. Purchases and pricing
Law for Living is operated from Canada. Prices are shown in U.S. dollars before payment; your bank may apply a conversion rate and fees. Each purchase is a one-time payment for a single document type; there is no subscription and nothing renews automatically. Payments are processed by Whop, Inc. and are also subject to Whop’s checkout terms. When Whop confirms payment, we unlock download access in the browser you paid from for 30 days, during which you may edit your answers and download the document again at no charge. Access is tied to a cookie in that browser; clearing site data or switching devices may end access early, in which case contact support with your payment details and we will restore it.
6. Refunds
Because you can review the entire document before paying, purchases are generally final. We will refund a purchase in full if you contact us within 30 days and either (a) the document could not be generated or downloaded and we cannot fix it, or (b) you were charged more than once for the same document. Other refund requests within 30 days are considered case by case. To request a refund, email jaymebuilds@gmail.com with the email address and date used at checkout. Refunds are issued to the original payment method through Whop.
7. Intellectual property and license
The site, questionnaires, explanations, templates, and software are owned by Law for Living or its licensors and protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service and to use, print, copy, and modify documents you generate for your own purposes. You keep ownership of the answers you provide and the resulting completed document. All other rights are reserved.
8. Your data
Questionnaire answers are stored in your browser, not on our servers, as described in our privacy policy. You are responsible for keeping copies of completed documents. We are not responsible for drafts lost when browser data is cleared, a device is replaced, or a browser fails.
9. No guarantee of outcome
We do not guarantee that any court, county recorder, government agency, medical provider, landlord, tenant, recipient, or other third party will accept, honor, or act on a generated document, or that using one will achieve any particular result. Templates are general and may not fit unusual facts, special legal rules, or recent changes in law.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE AND ALL DOCUMENTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY DOCUMENT IS LEGALLY SUFFICIENT, ENFORCEABLE, OR UP TO DATE FOR YOUR JURISDICTION. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LAW FOR LIVING AND ITS OWNERS, CONTRACTORS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROPERTY, RIGHTS, DATA, PROFITS, OR LEGAL POSITION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR ANY DOCUMENT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR $49 IF YOU PAID NOTHING. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they apply to you only to the extent permitted.
12. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Law for Living and its owners and contractors from claims, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your answers, your use of a generated document, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
13. Third-party services
Payments are handled by Whop and analytics by PostHog. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.
14. Changes to the service and these terms
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We may update these terms by posting a revised version with a new effective date; changes apply going forward, and continuing to use the service after that date means you accept them. Purchases are governed by the terms in effect at the time of purchase.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to email us and give us 30 days to try to resolve it. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the courts of British Columbia, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may bring an individual claim in a small-claims court where it qualifies. To the extent permitted by law, you agree to bring claims only in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative proceeding. Nothing in this section limits rights you have under the consumer-protection laws of the place where you live that cannot be waived by contract.
16. General
These terms, together with the privacy policy and legal disclaimer, are the entire agreement between you and Law for Living about the service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, sale, or reorganization.
